Summer In The City

Happy Summer!

Welcome to the WG Blog. “Thank you” simply does not cover my sincere appreciation for your support and excitement around our brand. My overall inspo for starting William Grace was to connect friends and support businesses that are near and dear to my heart. Here’s where that happens!

I live with my family in the heart of Atlanta. We are surrounded by some of the most adorable southern neighborhoods. So what better place to start highlighting fellow small businesses and their owners than in my own backyard. Within these special communities are entrepreneurs who, like myself, put their heart and soul into their daily work. If you are looking to fill up an afternoon, come take a leisurely stroll with us as we visit locally-owned gems in historic Virginia Highlands and Morningside.

Whiskey Bird / Little Bird To-Go

Morningside - At Whiskey Bird, you will find college friends and Co-Owners - Chad and Anthony mixing together unusual Asian flavors with the diversity of American tastes in a calming, hip dining space plus an outdoor patio open 5:30pm-8pm Wednesday thru Sunday. Little Bird (a new concept post COVID-19) offers perfect take-out options for those who choose to dine at home.  This is a date-night favorite of me and my husband!
Morningside - Here everything is made from scratch!  "A prepared food to-go" shop mixes Southern warmth and hospitality with an urban, yet neighborly, spirit! Serving meals ready for daily pick-up. Look for the stunning vegetable mural to locate this hidden find.  Casseroles is a must add to your weekly dinner rotation.  Tell owner Betsy we say “Hello!”
Virginia Highlands - Local Atlantan Laura Iarocci has been creating stunning arrangements for weddings and special events for years. Prior to COVID, the shop was also hosting floral workshops which will soon resume. Visit their website for more information https://www.faithflowers.com.
Virginia Highlands - Mali is known as the best kept secret in Atlanta. Joy, the owner, has been offering authentic, quality food for years.  Mali features a great patio, romantic ambiance and good, reasonably priced cuisine.  Their Pad Thai is one of my Thai staples.
Virginia Highlands - For 20 years Paolo Dalla Zorza has been serving up delicious Italian ice cream in more than 62 brilliant flavors. They also offer imported Italian coffees, candies, cookies and a showcase 'Cannoli Bar' where guests can create a customized cannoli.  Grazi Paolo!

Morningside — My kids cannot get enough of Doc Chey's freshly wok'd stirfries, heaping noodle bowls & handmade dim sum. Serving take-out, delivery and patio seating. They are doing a fantastic job implementing COVID-19 procedures to keep the guests and staff safe. Check out any of their three locations in Grant Park, Morningside and Emory.
